Congratulations on your decision to get married!  Among the many details surrounding your upcoming wedding, we know that finding just the right place is at the top of your list.

First United Methodist recognizes that God’s blessing is a requirement for a successful marriage and offers a warm environment where you can declare your vows before God and all your friends. First United provides a wedding team of minister, coordinator and sound technician to help you achieve you desires and goals for a memorable occasion. Our ministers are responsible for all weddings performed at our church. Under special circumstances, however, another Methodist pastor may assist or officiate, if invited by the Senior Pastor.

All couples are expected to meet with the pastor for premarital counseling. This is an excellent time to discuss ceremony, as well as to explore the many challenges every marriage faces, and to ensure that your marriage will grow with you. Counseling will consist of three sessions scheduled at a mutually convenient time

First United Methodist wedding ceremonies are worship services, giving each couple a unique opportunity to express their deepest commitments. They are solemn, yet joyful events, reflecting the couple’s profoundest feelings. Our minister will suggest a ceremony and ways in which it can be made your own.

Musical selections, both instrumental and vocal should express praise, joy, love and marriage themes appropriate for a wedding and they should also reflect the reverence and respect normally observed in church services.
