Holiday Friends is a community outreach event of the Harvest House, servicing Burleson families in need of Christmas assistance. Without this program, these families would not be able to enjoy many of the Christmas activities and holiday excitement that this program provides, and that most of us take for granted.

The 2009 Holiday Friends event, held on December 12th, will include many activities that these families will enjoy when they enter our church facility beginning with being greeted by volunteers who are eager to help them begin their Christmas Celebration. Our guests will be treated to a lovely sit down meal, visit Santa & his Elf, Jingles and receive a photo with Santa. They will get to have fun decorating Christmas cookies, making Christmas cards, experience a wonderful live drama presentation of the great Christmas story and the birth of Jesus, have prayer rooms available for reflection & solitude, go shopping in an “on-site” toy store filled with toys donated by the community, as well as an opportunity for the children to make gifts for their parents in the children’s wing. In Jesus’ birthday room the children will enjoy being entertained by clowns, get their face painted and play games while celebrating Jesus’ birthday and having birthday cake. Our guests will also receive a Christmas Meal Basket to take home with them for their meal on Christmas day (made possible by the amazing generosity of our local City Market Grocery Store and the community during the Christmas Meal Basket food drive). Our guests will have enjoyed a full day of fun and Christian fellowship.

Please join us in making this event memorable for everyone. We, as a church, have a great opportunity to reach out to our community and make a difference.

Thank you and God Bless,

Lorri Dyess and Jackie Elliott
