The Adult Sunday School at FUMC Burleson seeks to
promote and enable individual and relational growth toward a full understanding
and experience of God’s purposes for us as revealed in Scripture and in Jesus
Christ. Many classes are offered for persons in varying ages and stages
of life. Classes form a close bond as a community within the
church. The actual content and teaching style will vary from class to
class as all seek to further their study of the Bible. A full listing of
our Adult Sunday School classes follows:
Genesis

A small diverse singles class interested in growing. Their
curriculum is the Upper Rooom plus any seasonal or appropriate study
material as decided upon by the class.
Fellowship

Our class is made up of "young at heart" senior citizens, both singles and
couples.
We study the Uniform Series International Bible Lessons for Christian Teaching
and we have an excellent panel of dedicated teachers.
We have a social once a month; and some of our members attend the Troubadours, a
group of retirees who meet each first Monday for a meal, games,
socializing and special events.
Several of our members volunteer at Huguley Hospital and Harvest
House. Others are active members of UMW.
Our class contributes to the Spring Fling, Fall Festival, Missions, Methodist
Home, Aldersgate, Holiday Friends, Little Red School House, and other
special needs of the church.
We Welcome Visitors and New Members
Servitors

The goal of the Servitors class is to provide the best of adult Christian study
in an atmosphere of love and fellowship. We care for each other, our
extended families, and our church.
Our teachers are outstanding. We rotate with four or five dedicated to the task
and have guest teachers occasionally. There are different teaching styles
but all offer challenging and thought provoking classes - we don't always
agree and that is OK. Disscussions are lively, often with humor, but
always with a goal of better understanding of ours lives as
Christians.
Without revealing ages we will only say that we have Parents of Teenagers,
Grandparents, Retirees, and other categories. Married or otherwise
are present and welcome.
We also provide opportunities for Christian fellowship through social activities
about every three months. Events may be a ball game, a
tour of industry, special events, or a home gathering. There are
weekly coffee gatherings, lunches, or a girls night out.
Help us become better than we are, come join us.
Co-Workers

The co-workers are an active adult sunday school class. This group sings
praises and shares their faith. We welcome new visitors and new members
to come and share their faith with us. We use alternate
instructors to teach our lessons.

New Beginnings

Most of our class consists of parents of elementary age children or
younger. We invite newly weds, single parents and singles.
Come start a new beginning with us!
We are a kid friendly class! Most, but not all of us, have children who
are probably in Sunday School with your own children.
We enjoy the fellowship of Christians and look forward to meeting more members
of the chruch and community. Visit the
New Beginnings web page.
Faith Builders

The FaithBuilders are a diverse group of adults that come together to study a
mixture of traditional biblical and contemporary life lessons. We are
active in all areas of the church ministery and many community projects.
Everyone is welcome to join us in our quest for truth and knowledge or
just to visit with us at a social gathering.
We do LOVE to SOCIALIZE and EAT
Seekers

This class is a group of men and women seeking God's call on
their lives. We are of varying ages, we are single, divorced, married, and
widowed. We are different and exciting. We do our own thing. We use study
material from various sources including the Bible, books written by well known
authors, and study guides. More importantly we share our opinions, our ideas,
and our faith with one another. Discussion is an important part of our class.
We are known to let our hair down and have fun. We laugh with
each other, we cry with each other and we are always there to love and support
one another. If you are looking for something out of the ordinary look us
up....we'd love to have you join our circle of love and friendship.
