The Purpose

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

General Information

The United Methodist Women are organized locally in groups called units.  A local group is called a unit because it is connected to a greater whole that includes district, conference, jurisdiction and national organizations.  The national policy making body is the Womens Division for the General Board of Global Ministries.

The Burleson unit of United Methodist Women are:

• Centered in relationship with God through Jesus Christ
• Focused on ministries with women, children and youth
• Involved in missions both locally and globally
• Commited to inclusiveness
• Pledged to financial support for the mission through undesignated giving
• Engaged in development and use of skills for service, leadership development and personal growth
• Encouraged to work with other organizations on issues of mutual concern.

Circle Meeting Schedules

Friendship, Joy and Sunshine Circles - 2nd Tuesday of every month at 9:30 am at the church or a member's home except June, July and August.

Lamplighters Circle - 3rd Monday of every month at 7:00 pm at the church except June, July and December.
